One feeling I love is feeling both tired and satisfied at the end of an awesome bike ride. There is nothing better than getting on your bike after a long day at work to ride all the way home. For me, that journey is about 33 kilometres and I love every kilometre of the journey.
There are so many sights to see along the way. I start off in the city and am able to use the cycling paths to beat the traffic that is often at a stand still.
Along the way I pass by industrial parks full of huge machinery and factories and am always amazed at the engineering of the equipment being used.
Beyond that is the ocean and as I ride along I love the smell of the sea spray and seeing people swimming, surfing, or fishing.
As the sun sets, I stop and watch as the sun goes down and marvel at the shades and changing colours of the clouds...it is just so beautiful!
Finally, the last part of my journey in darkness, being guided by lights afixed to my bike, I make it home.
Exhaused but full of joy and satisfaction at having travelled all that way and witnessed such awesome sights along the way, I can't wait to get out there again.
This post is part of a series on what I love about cycling
